The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is a non-profit professional and educational association that promotes the effective and ethical use of spatial information and information technologies for the understanding and management of urban and regional systems. It is a multidisciplinary association where professionals from all parts of the spatial data community can come together and share concerns and ideas.

NSPS provides the platform by which members can share their thoughts and opinions about our common interests through business meetings /committees, regional groups, and student chapters. It also provides a forum for input from other groups such as the National Association of County Surveyors, members of state boards of registration, and the Forum for State Surveying Society Executives. Membership is open to all professional surveyors and to persons trained, registered, or interested in the profession of surveying and mapping.

GIS Colorado represents and foster GIS activities throughout Colorado. Their mission is to further the sharing of data and exchange of ideas. GIS Colorado has a listserv that reaches most GIS professionals in the state, aa few outside of it. This is a great resource well worth the sign-up.
